Tomyum Kungfu x Hnfy Family

Bestfriends dinner session, craves fulfilled!
M O O K A T A

The deco of this place evokes bangkok, as also 1970s of singapore.
Super old school? Retro? Vintage?
And those colorful fanta flavored drinks ... Aww!

Tom Yu Kungfu is somewhat a place which i would say is alot fun to dine in.
The large tables of folks eating around in charcoal filled grill, chit chat & having fun.
It's really the combined atmosphere that creates the feeling in being able to "wind down" aft a long day to have a good meal. The walls are grunge & raw w/ paint and old school hong kong movies posters (inside the shop). As well as the colorful lightbulbs, thai music (which i love so much) playing that brings the thai-ish nature of this eatery. They had two shopfronts, also an outdoor service. It smells so good while waiting the food to be served!

If you're wondering what in blazes thai mookata styled grilled is, in shorts it's having an enclosed pot filled w/ charcoal, having a convet grill top that holds a small amount of soup at the bottom. The idea is such that the meat juices (essence), seafood grilled from above will flow straight into the stock, crafting the result of an awesome soup at the end.

We'd picked the basic set, for pax of three - $38 (w/o tiger prawns & mamee noodles), which actually comes complete w/ chicken, pork, assorted seafood (prawns, squid, scallops...) There's also a basket of green leaves, golden mushroom and beancurd skin.

If you're typical eater like us (oops), you could simply get the seafood changed away for all meat or change all green leaves away for gold mushroom & cabbage only (fussy us haha). There's two difference choices for dipping sauce. Either the "thai sweet chili or the more "akin to our chicken rice chili sauce. All depends on preference.

If you do not have enough of their meat, could simply add on platters for "$8 etc.. They do serve normal thai cuisine like tomyum soup, all kinds of thai style cooking meat and veggies dishes, other than mookata if you're eating alone. On overall the food was decent enough, service was prompt, and a great (smokey) place to try on!

How this piece of meat is alike to her little rose? Hahaha!
And the background, the vintage inner look of tomyum kungfu ..

Love this piece of vintage rose background, too retro that we must make it a mandatory shot!
We picked tomyum kungfu partially it's near to our next destination, at circular road.
While actually my favourite is still J-dee Thai Mookata @ Goldenmile. (no offence, but i can't lied to myself for too good food hehe.) But tomyum kungfu isn't that bad like some others that i tried before oops..
